ProDecs began in 2018 as a question inside a PhD at NTNU: how should an energy company decide what to build when prices, costs, and demand are genuinely uncertain? Verena Hagspiel and Semyon Fedorov have been working on the answer together ever since.
Through NTNU's BRU21 program and the Research Council of Norway, seven years of research turned that question into a working platform, and in 2024 ProDecs spun out as a company, now validated on real assets with operators like OKEA and DNO.

Verena is part of one of the world's leading research groups on investment under uncertainty, with 15+ years and 45+ papers on real options. She built the science ProDecs runs on, and now leads the company and its commercialization, turning that research into a business.
